About Us

The Analogue Laboratory is an independent, artist run photographic facility in Adelaide, South Australia, specialising in traditional and experimental techniques. Established in 2011 – we’re here to Keep the Alchemy Alive.

We are currently moving – no workshops or darkroom access will be available until later in 2018. If you’d like to be notified when we’re ready for more analogue adventures please sign up to our mailing list.

The Lab runs workshops with specialist practitioners in a range of processes, from Platinum to Pinhole Cameras and everything weird in between. Usually there is absolutely No Assumed Knowledge, just bring your enthusiasm and let’s make something. Workshops are generally a full day affair and include tea, coffee, biscuits, snacks and lunch to keep you going. All equipment and materials are included in the price unless otherwise specified, and detailed technical handouts are always provided.

And when the workshop is over… we would be delighted if you would like to keep using the Lab to practice your new skill! We built the facility big enough to share, and we’re always keen to meet new people who feel as we do about alternative/ wet process photography. We keep our hire rates reasonable so you can Make More Things.

If there’s a process you’ve always wanted to learn, why not let us know?
